Search stutters and search results won't load datasets in Internet Explorer 11

We launched without support for Internet Explorer to at least begin getting feedback from users in other browsers. We do want to get full support for all modern, supported versions of IE (11 and edge) which we currently don't have.

We think we've isolated the incompatibility and will be able to address this without a lot of extra engineering.
