2. Target SIM Setup & Quick Tile Cycle Guide

NetToggle gives you full control over multi-SIM configurations, quick settings cycling sequences, and automatic network restoration.

📱 Target SIM Setup

On dual-SIM devices, Android assigns dynamic internal subscription IDs (subId) that do not always match physical SIM slots. NetToggle provides direct SIM targeting to ensure mode commands are routed to the correct radio slot.

Locate the Target SIM card on the main dashboard (below the Execution Mode segment) and choose one of the following configurations:

  • Auto: Automatically resolves your active mobile data subscription and maps it to the corresponding physical SIM slot using native Android APIs. (Recommended for single-SIM devices and typical dual-SIM use).
  • SIM 1: Bypasses automatic detection and routes all network mode commands specifically to the physical SIM card in Slot 1.
  • SIM 2: Bypasses automatic detection and routes all network mode commands specifically to the physical SIM card in Slot 2.
  • Both: Applies network mode changes to both physical SIM cards simultaneously.
    • Smart Filtering: Only network modes mutually supported by both SIM slots will be selectable in the cycle card.
    • Reconciliation & Safety: If the two SIM cards are on different network modes when selecting "Both", NetToggle reconciles them to match safely without overriding your manual preferred mode.

Tip: If Auto detection ever encounters an ambiguity on custom ROMs or modified firmware, an inline warning will appear and you can select SIM 1 or SIM 2 manually.

🔄 Configuring Your Quick Tile Cycle

The Quick Tile Cycle allows you to build an ordered sequence of 2 or 3 network modes that the Quick Settings tile will cycle through with each tap.

Step-by-Step Setup:

  1. Locate the Quick Tile Cycle Card: Find the grid of available network mode chips (e.g., 5G Only, Pref 5G, 4G Only, Pref 4G, Pref 3G, 2G Only).
  2. Select Your Modes: Tap the chips you want in your cycle. Active chips will highlight with warm sand styling.
    • Minimum: 2 modes
    • Maximum: 3 modes
  3. Verify the Cycle Order: Observe the dynamic order badge at the bottom of the card (e.g., Cycle: Pref 5G → 4G Only). The order in which you tap the chips dictates the exact sequence the QS tile follows.
  4. Smart Capability Filtering: Modes that your device hardware or local carrier do not support (such as retired 2G/3G bands on sunset networks) are automatically hidden to prevent non-functional states.

🛡️ Auto-Restore on Shade Pull

Certain Android skins, OEM background thermal managers, or cellular carriers will silently downgrade or alter your selected network mode in the background (for instance, dropping 5G to 4G during standby or thermal throttling).

  • How It Works: When Auto-Restore is enabled in the Quick Tile Cycle card, NetToggle remembers your last manually selected network mode.
  • On-Demand Protection: Whenever you pull down the Android notification / Quick Settings shade, NetToggle checks the active modem state. If the carrier, system, or thermal manager altered your mode, NetToggle automatically re-applies your preferred mode with a built-in cooldown guard to eliminate continuous background polling and prevent battery drain.
