If anybody receives this error, it just means that the qemu-system-* path for the chosen architecture is missing.
Go to Settings->QEMU (1) and browse the path to the emulator, e.g. "C:/Program Files/qemu/qemu-system-ppc.exe" (PowerPC 32-bit in my case).
Make sure you hit the "Apply" button at the very bottom after selecting the path!
