I recently made the transition from Windows to Gentoo (systemd, KDE6/Plasma and Wayland), and I've been using Dolphin all this time and getting more and more frustrated with it.

Today, I was doing various post-install stuff, and I went searching for a replacement dual-paned tabbed FM - and I found this. As a staunch user of OC in Windows for the better part of 2 years or so, I'm thrilled to see this here.

Thank you for undertaking this. Built from scratch without a hitch, and now I'm looking at a *nix clone of my fav og OC and I couldn't be happier.

Still not working here with 15.3, I'm creating an issue for this.

Hi @JohnLGalt,

First of all, my apologies for the delay! I've been fully occupied lately with my career retraining program and starting my new internship.

I have investigated the issues and pushed two fixes to the repository today:

Translation fallback path layout fix: Under certain manual compile configurations or cases where path prefixes mismatch, the hardcoded translation directory path fails. The fallback paths only searched adjacent directories but missed the standard Linux structure where translations reside relatively at binDir + "/../share/splitcommander/translations". I have added this relative path to the fallbacks, so English should now be detected and loaded correctly on your system.

Sidebar Tag synchronization fix: I also identified and resolved an issue where new tags created (or renamed/recolored/deleted) in the sidebar were not immediately available in the right-click context menu of the file panes. The Sidebar was previously writing changes directly to the configuration file without notifying the TagManager instance in memory. The system has been refactored so that TagManager serves as the single source of truth, and the Sidebar automatically updates in real-time upon tag changes.

Please pull the latest changes, rebuild the application, and let me know if everything works as expected now!

'Gratz on the new internship! And no worries on delays, real life always comes first :)

I'll grab the new files and give them a whirl sometime soon myself, I have a feeling that the translations issue should be mostly fixed now, as manual extraction and installation was the only problem, scripted install seems to already work.

The new commits allow full translation builds with no more errors, but using manual build method still leaves one problem that I have found:

Trying installation method to see if it is broken there too.

EDIT: verified also occurs on regular clone and install method too.
