Note-failure diagnostic feedback (too late/early/sharp/flat) — planned in old slopsmith docs, never built #1053

Description

@carochacs

Summary

Old slopsmith docs (TODO.md, docs/NOTE_FAILURE_SPEC.md, NOTE_FAILURE_PLAN.md) describe a planned "note failure feedback" system — Riff-Repeater-style miss diagnosis that classifies a miss as too-late, too-early, too-sharp, or too-flat rather than just hit/miss. Grepping both the old and current trees for the relevant terms (too_late, too_early, too_sharp, too_flat, miss_reason, failure_reason) turns up nothing — this was a documented plan, not a feature that ever shipped in either slopsmith or feedBack.

Ask

This is a genuine gap relative to the old project's stated intent, but unlike the other issues filed alongside this one it's not a regression — nothing to restore, just a design to pick up if there's still interest. Worth a maintainer read of the old spec docs to decide whether it's still wanted before scoping real work.

Context

Found via a comparison audit of old slopsmith/slopsmith-plugin-* vs current feedBack/feedBack-plugin-*, done to identify features lost when Slopsmith was scrapped (DMCA/PSARC) and rewritten as feedBack. Verified not a duplicate of any open issue (searched "note failure", "riff repeater", "miss diagnosis").
