Modernization of the Remi

Hi everyone, I wish everyone is having nice times those days!

I started this discussion, to show some work I'm doing with Remi!

I'm working on some code modernization, in UI and backend code, it's an independed fork available here https://github.com/MaxMorais/remi/tree/modernization

My idea, is to have an UI and set of Widgets more aligned with shadcn/ui https://ui.shadcn.com/docs/components/accordion

Some of my goals are

• Get out of Python2 dependencies
• Update the look and feel of the standard widgets
• Update the look and fell of the editor
• Build additional elements

Hello @MaxMorais ,

Very nice look and feel! Are you using exteral js libs? That idea of accordions could be really problematic for widgets positioning logic, probably will not work for the editor.

The idea of removing python2 dependencies is a good idea.
Also the update of style is good.
Which kind of new widgets you want to build?

Hi @dddomodossola, my idea is to not embed anything additional on the project, but rebuild things in Remi, when needed!

I have invested some time learning svelte and Vue, and Im confident we can get great results in Remi, without leave it lightweight model!

For widgets, I'm planning first form elements, like calendar widget, a select, dropdowns, collapses and tabs.

I understand the issues with layout positioning, but I believe it can be achieved with flex or grid css layout

Checkbox, slider, progress and scrollbars have been improved
Also, the buttons have been flatten a little bit
