idea: Global system prompt + reusable prompt "skills"/templates on mobile #292

Description

@Confettihere

Platform: iPad/iPhone app (seen on iPad Pro 13-inch M4, iPadOS 26.6.1)

Two related power-user features for the mobile app:

1. Global system prompt / custom instructions

Custom Assistants already allow per-assistant prompts, but there is no user-level default prompt applied to casual chats in the main thread. A global system prompt (optionally with per-model overrides) would let users set language, tone and formatting once instead of repeating it in every new chat.

2. Skills / reusable prompt templates

A lightweight way to save named prompts (with placeholders like {{text}} or {{language}}) and invoke them quickly — a slash command or a button above the keyboard in the composer. Typical mobile use case: "translate this", "summarize this", "rewrite in a polite tone" — today these instructions have to be retyped every time.

If deeper "skills" (tools) are considered: the desktop app already ships MCP integration — exposing it (or a curated subset) on iOS would be a natural next step, and iOS Shortcuts / Share Sheet integration ("summarize the page I'm reading") would fit the platform well.

Thanks for a great local-first app — happy to test any of this on an iPad Pro M4.
