Curators can invite any CDS user as a reviewer on a specific submission, even if that person is not a community member. This is useful when specialist input is needed before a decision is made. See [Commenting](comments.md) for details on how to use the conversation features during a review.

## Accessing a review request

There are two ways to reach a review request, depending on whether you have access to the record itself.

### Via your dashboard

This route is always available, even if the record is restricted or not yet published.

1. Go to [My dashboard → Requests](https://repository.cern/me/requests).
2. Use the **Shared with me** tab to find requests where you have been invited as a reviewer, or **My requests** for submissions you created.

Maybe also mention that accepted requests are under the "closed" tab. I have forgotten that many times and have been confused about where a request was

!!! tip "Can't find a request?"
Open requests appear under the **Open** tab. Once a request has been accepted, cancelled or declined, it moves to the **Closed** tab.

### Via the record landing page

If you can view the record, you can reach the request directly from it.

1. Open the record's page.
2. In the **Communities** sidebar, click **View comments** next to the relevant community.

!!! note "Who can see the View comments link"
The link is visible to the record owner, community curators, managers and owners, users with edit access or above, and anyone explicitly invited as a reviewer on the request associated with that record.
