CrystalDiskMark is a simple disk and storage benchmark utility for measuring sequential and random read/write performance. It supports multiple measurement modes, including Peak, Real World, and Demo, as well as multiple languages and themes.
CrystalDiskMark 9.0.3 is the current version listed by Crystal Dew World, released on May 24, 2026. The software is available in Standard, Aoi, and Shizuku editions.
- Sequential performance – measure sequential read and write performance
- Random performance – measure random read and write performance
- Read / Write / Mix – benchmark different storage workload types
- Peak mode – measure peak performance
- Real World mode – measure performance using a real-world-oriented workload
- Demo mode – run benchmark demonstrations
- Multilingual support – supports many languages
- Themes – customizable visual themes
- Multiple editions – Standard, Aoi, and Shizuku editions
CrystalDiskMark is designed to benchmark storage performance. Results can be affected by:
- Test File Size
- Test File Position
- Fragmentation
- IDE (PATA), SATA, RAID, SCSI, or NVMe controller
- CPU speed
- Test data type, including random data and 0Fill for some SSDs
⚠️ Benchmark results should be interpreted in the context of the test configuration and hardware being tested.
- Download the ZIP archive of CrystalDiskMark.
- Extract the contents to any folder (use 7‑Zip, WinRAR, or Windows built‑in extractor).
- Right‑click
Setup.exeand select “Run as administrator”. - Follow any on‑screen prompts to complete the setup.
⚠️ Running as administrator ensures proper driver and registry registration.

Compatibility notes:
- The Installer and x64 version do not support Windows XP/2003 (NT5.x).
- Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000 are not supported.
- CrystalDiskMark may shorten the life of an SSD or USB memory because benchmarking performs storage operations.
- Benchmark results are not compatible between different major versions.
- MB/s means 1,000,000 bytes/sec.
- If CrystalDiskMark is launched without administrator rights, Network Drives are not shown. To benchmark a Network Drive, run CrystalDiskMark with administrator rights.
- UAC dialog: YES = administrator rights; NO = without administrator rights.
- 1 GiB = 1024 MiB = 1024 × 1024 KiB = 1024 × 1024 × 1024 B
- 1 GB = 1000 MB = 1000 × 1000 KB = 1000 × 1000 × 1000 B
