Hidden Alchemy — Ideas

The Hidden Alchemy organization is an open engineering laboratory for transforming raw ideas into real systems: IDEA → CONCEPT → ARCHITECTURE → SYSTEM → AUTOMATION → REALITY.

This repository is where ideas enter the pipeline. Every project in the organization starts as an Issue here. It is tracked through the lifecycle with labels and the project board — and not every idea becomes a repository. Decline is a normal, first-class, well-documented outcome.

What this is / is not

This is:

• The intake channel for raw ideas (Idea Submission form).
• The place where accepted ideas graduate into Project Proposals at the Architecture stage.
• The visual track of the idea lifecycle, on the Idea Lifecycle project board — a Status single-select field mirrors the §23 stages (Raw Idea → … → Archived) and is updated alongside issue labels as ideas move.

This is NOT:

• A code repository. Code starts living elsewhere once an idea proves viable (experiments at Prototype, then its own repo at Active Project).
• The place to file bugs/feature requests for existing systems (use those repos, or the bug form in the org).
• A discussion forum for open-ended brainstorming (that's Discussions).

The idea lifecycle

RAW IDEA → UNDER REVIEW → RESEARCH → ARCHITECTURE → PROTOTYPE
           → ACTIVE PROJECT → STABLE → MAINTAINED → ARCHIVED

Each issue carries status and type labels as it moves, and the project board mirrors those stages for visual tracking. Full stage-by-stage entry/exit conditions are defined in the PRD's §23 (referenced from the org GOVERNANCE.md).

How to contribute here

Submit an idea with the Idea Submission form — every feedback loop starts there. Before submitting, glance at existing open ideas and the board to avoid near-duplicates (a maintainer will flag and consolidate so no time is lost). The org-wide process in CONTRIBUTING.md applies.
