Hi! I'm Leonardo A. Caravaggio. I work at the intersection of economics, philosophy and data science, with a focus on understanding how collective decisions are made in the era of data and artificial intelligence.
I'm currently an economist at the Argentine Ministry of Economy, where I develop macroeconomic models, automation tools and data-driven analysis for public policy. I also teach quantitative methods, data science and public policy at ITBA, FCE-UBA and UNSAM.
My academic background includes:
- PhD candidate in Economics at FCE-UBA (Paper #1, Paper #2, Paper #3).
- MSc and BSc in Economics at FCE-UBA (master's thesis and senior thesis).
- MSc in Philosophy at Universidad Nacional de Quilmes (master's thesis).
- Diploma in Deep Learning at ITBA (final project).
My main interests are wellbeing and happiness, behavioral science, public policy and artificial intelligence. I’m especially interested in how data and computational methods can improve — or distort — the way we understand social phenomena and design institutions.
