Create custom preferences

In PreferencesAdapter#onCreateViewHolder() only few types of layouts can be used. How can I create a custom preferences with custom layout?

It's not possible to set the layout of the whole preference view. You can, however, specify a custom layout for the preference's widget by overriding getWidgetLayoutResource.
