  • xlgit demo: a 30-second walkthrough in a throwaway folder. Anna inserts a line in a cost estimate, Ben changes a rate and a quantity on his branch, git merges them, Ben's edits follow their rows down, the chart comes through, and the change opens as a grid in the browser. Only the demo folder is touched.
  • README now opens with a one-line pitch, a GIF of the real demo output, and "Try it in 30 seconds" (pip install xlgit then xlgit demo).
  • tools/make_demo_gif.py regenerates the GIF from the real demo (only the temp path is shortened).

Checked: 59 tests pass locally (2 new, both fail without the change); the demo's merged workbook opens in Excel 16 without repair, chart covering the new row, total $140,340.

A throwaway repository where Anna inserts a line in a cost estimate and
Ben changes a rate and a quantity on his branch; git merges them, Ben's
edits follow their rows down, the chart comes through, and the change
opens as a grid in the browser. Only the demo folder is touched: drivers
are set for that repository alone. The merged workbook opens in Excel 16
without repair, total $140,340.

docs/demo.gif is drawn from the real output of xlgit demo by
tools/make_demo_gif.py (only the temp folder path is shortened), so it
can be regenerated whenever the demo changes.
