Musical Informatics KV WS2024

This repository contains materials for the Winter Semester 2024 course on Musical Informatics.

Setup

To install Miniconda, follow these simple steps:

Download the Miniconda Installer:
- Visit the official Miniconda download page here.
- Choose the appropriate installer for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux) and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
Install Miniconda: Follow the instructions for your OS and architecture from the official webpage.
Verify Installation:
- Open a terminal (or Command Prompt for Windows).
- Run the following command to verify that Miniconda was installed correctly:
```
conda --version
```
You should see the version number of Conda.

To create setup the environment, run the following commands in the terminal:

git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/MusicalInformatics/miws2024.git
cd miws24
conda env create -f environment.yml

The command above requires git 2.13 or later, if you have an older version of git, you can use the following command instead.

git clone --recursive https://github.com/MusicalInformatics/miws2024.git
cd miws24
conda env create -f environment.yml

(you can check your git version by typing git version in the terminal).

To activate the environment in the terminal:

conda activate miws24
