A Higurashi Daybreak Kai patcher/mod to get true widescreen, supporting various resolutions.
- Ensure you have the game's folder ready.
- Verify that the required files (
DaybreakDX.exeandconfig.dat) are present in the game's directory.
- Extract the zip contents into the game's folder.
- Run
wideMod.exefound in the releases. - Follow the on-screen instructions to set your desired resolution and ingame config.
These are the avaliable commands:
wideMod.exe --resolution=<width>x<height>
wideMod.exe --revert
wideMod.exe --name <yourName>
wideMod.exe --shadow
wideMod.exe --outline
wideMod.exe --htexture
wideMod.exe --launch [--exe <game.exe>] [--dll <hook.dll>]--launch performs the same startup the GUI "Run Game" button does —
suspended CreateProcess, CPU-0 affinity + high priority workaround,
DaybreakFixer.dll injection via CreateRemoteThread, resume — but it
blocks until the game exits and forwards the game's exit code, so
scripts and test agents can supervise the session:
# From the game folder (needs DaybreakDX.exe + DaybreakFixer.dll side by side):
wideMod.exe --launch
# game launched: pid=376 exe=DaybreakDX.exe dll=DaybreakFixer.dll
# ... game runs ...
# game exited: pid=376 code=0
# Patch the resolution first, then launch in one call:
wideMod.exe --resolution=1920x1080 --launch
# Custom paths (cwd of the game is derived from the exe location):
wideMod.exe --launch --exe "C:\Games\Daybreak\DaybreakDX.exe" --dll "C:\Games\Daybreak\DaybreakFixer.dll"On Linux, run the Windows build under wine (the game stays up for
interactive agents; kill DaybreakDX.exe to end the session):
WINEDEBUG=-all wine wideMod.exe --launch- Marchizu, for helping to find the offsets in the .exe
- Olof-AV, for creating the fix
- NigelTicknor, for creating his launcher, which inspired some of the features used here.
