IMPORTANT: GitHub employees steal from FOSS for pay

Your code is not safe!

Massive projects like zig and gentoo are steadily ditching GH (after 10 years!) due to growing commercial Copilot infestation.

But there is a deeper concern responsible for the steady migrations...

GitHub/Microsoft/VS Code employees have a relentless history of stealing from Free & Open Source (includiong private repos!) but charge for feats to victims of their employer.

As of 6/10/2026, I started documenting this horrendous phenomenon (usually takes >2 days to copy because they work slow, I am doing this in hopes of deterring the shameless and unethical behavior, whether effective is to be determined, if they don't stop I will turn this into full blog series and pay for ads including full names of employees behind each commit, will expose forever due to SEO, my written content has millions of cumulative views, just saying be smart if you don't want to leave that kind of legacy cut that shit out, also if/when the AI firings finally reach you you will never get a new job because recruiter at next employer will google your name this is standard practice, also the desperation is so senseless because CEOs are dumb and will eventually re-hire employees when everything starts constantly crashing, but they won't re-hire you if you made this list because it reveals you are a PR liability nightmare and Gen Z is mostly jobless so who do you think they will pick?)

Keep in mind this log is not even comprehensive to accurately imagine the full scale of their thievery:

(if you have been similarly victimized hmu @ +1-415-894-0301, I am in contact w/ the CEO called "Satya", he is good man albeit the unintentional trigger for such behavior due to AI layoffs are never-ending lately and GH employees simply haven't figured out the sabotage AI route innovated by Gen Z workers is the optimal long-term solution, not make AI stronger thus their role even more redundant since performance doesn't matter, like no one from upper management down to lowly engineers understands in th UK alone, nearly half the population wishes they could snap a finger to make AI disappear forever)

6/13/2026 - Today the honorable Edge team awarded the Featured badge to my ChatGPT Widescreen extension (it trended #1-5 organically for like last 12 months though) so upon reflection, it's really only the engineers, product "managers" and upper management that tend to be selfish/corrupt for career purposes (also happens at other Big Tech co's, so those are the ones to beware of, also my uncle whose best friend works at MS told me they're all like that, the bff is tall/alpha male not quiet engineer type like uncle so exposes you can't trust the loud nor quiet ones equally)

6/21/2026 - There is actually another archetype of thieves not financialy motivated. The contributors to open source Twitter clone project "Mastodon" (underlying protocol is "fediverse" but the owner called "Eugen Rochko" downplays/hides the credit otherwise funding would go there instead) also religiously stalk me (e.g. owner began posting blog changelog updates inspired by this README) but since they are not paid (owner collects funds I highly suspect are not fairly distributed, I exposed another project owner of "lycheeverse" for doing the same) then I have some sympathy and won't expose the individual commits of the unpaid "workers" stealing for no pay but recognition (but if he starts paying them then I will add the thefts in separate section, most repeat offender is called "ClearlyClaire", also in e-mails to me he loudly calls them "employees", even used to market himself as "CEO", then I started posting about how greedy CEOs are behind the AI layoffs + employees make me involuntary PM, so now he changed his title to "Executive Product Advisor" instead)

6/22/2026 - Note to GH employees: I will be irreversibly publishing this Copylog of Shame to Medium + Hackernoon (will be maintained as identical mirrors in perpetuity!) if you do not cease stalking me, this is your final warning (Mr. Don Jayamanne so far you're the most shameless known repeat offender so your photograph will be used in hero collage, not just potential future employers if you truly believe you're immune to the non-stop AI layoffs which isn't even based on performance but your family will see it, too). Please, please, please, please, just unbookmark my profile I know it's hard to break deep old habits but think of the long term repercussions (will evolve into series, then adspend will get involved if you still don't break the cycle. Sometimes "low-hanging" fruit is poisoned and I am literally telling you what will happen if you continue to eat it, think long-term sometimes also how your selfish actions cause traumatic harm to others, and the solution is so ez just delete a bookmark, do you seriously lack the willpower and will risk forever articles exposing your misdeeds instead? Use common sense obviously just muscle it up is the better choice...)

6/29/2026 - Note to VSC employees: IDK why you thought I wouldn't include y'all (the 2nd bolded sentence literally said VS Code employees, just because I don't do things in order doesn't mean I'm suddenly blind to your activity or people aren't snitching to me) but the story has been re-shaped to be focused on you guys lately based on the logs. Remember, it is an impartial record of factual events i.e. you and you alone are in control of your recorded actions (which will be published to external sites sometime this week). Also note to all employees, I'm not sure I made myself clear, maintain in perpetuity = maintain like a repo w/ latest updates (i.e. in 10 years it will still be SEO-healthy because your latest thefts are constantly being added, and the more your name repeats the higher it ranks for searches for you)

7/1/2026 - In hindsight, the PM called "Camilla Moraes" who bizarrely backdated her product announcements triggered by this README via sneak editing blank ones from a week prior was likely trying to "catch up" and look busy/on schedule to not get fired from being lazy like this doc was a rude awakening (there are viral Shorts/TikToks of Facebook "PMs" chilling in pools bragging about working hard, then video cuts to them getting fired, so she probably looked up "AI layoffs" to figure out what I was going on about and saw them). Also she even suddenly (and quite selfishly) took over the Community Manager's announcements (who was very honorable for helpfully building this log w/ me), almost like to look suddenly "busy" when she didn't even post anything for months prior...

7/1/2026 - I just came to an epiphany, there are multiple factors behind why the thefts aren't stopping. The Releases sidebar being triggered by such a small change in my behavior (linked to messy hard-to-nav Release page instead of usual carefully curated specific Commit/Issue) made me realize, these are creatures of habit. Once they got used to clicking an optimal way (possibly even releasing dopamine, still unsure why the consequences are being treated so lightly though, even poor people in low-paying jobs w/ common sense don't want negative search engine results) anything that disrupts that rhythm blocks the dopamine, so they had to actively "fix" it back to the "happy path" (mindless habitual dopamine release, which is also what occurs when cheating/copying and you get an A on test etc.) so it's almost like a reflex at this point to never stray from that ez path. So the most repeat offenders like Rob Lourens and Don Jayamanne appearing in list is a signal that their mindless habit spanned years (which is truly how long ago the bearded VS Code employee first abused me), and then the less repeat ones didn't have the habit as deeply ingrained yet. So this is the main factor, it's like expecting a smoker of 10y to just stop cold turkey. Second factor is most ppl (especially post-COVID) have a hard time w/ long-term thinking, so if pre-COVID they were thinking month-to-month, now they are like fighting to survive week-to-week (the 1w-backdated Camilla Moraes announcements woke me up to this) or even day-to-day (i.e. why would such a person care what a search engine says about them in 1 year let alone 10, they're not even thinking about next month or being jobless to care, just having a job is like a habit to them, creatures of habit do not expect things to change)
