using recursive with single file fails silently
version: 7.0.6 in linux trixie.
This is a silent error that may trouble users (as i was) why it fails.
Long story short, i wanted to try the full command before try it with lots of files, with a single file. So the whole command failed. I suppose cause i used a single file together with --recursive option.
