Version for Umbraco 8+

As I've lost access to my original Twitter account I'm not able to send you DM until you follow my new account, so I'm writing here. Is there any progress from your side in turning the great uCondition into v8+ version? If not - is any development happening around it or is there anything in what I/we can help to make it complete sooner than later?

Yep! I have started an Umbraco 8 branch. I have performed an Umbraco 8 instance. The username and password for it should be admin and qwe1234567. These are the tasks I mentioned I am wanting to work on to take the project to the next level 👍
Tasks:

• Change all references for IPublished to IPublishedElement

Utilise LightInject for predicate registrations so DI can be used to resolve predicates and also DI can be used for injecting custom services in custom predicates

• Remove the StartUp method in the PredicateManager

• Inject the LightInject Service Container into the Predicate Manager

• Write a custom composition extension such as composition.RegisterPredicate<MyPredicate>()

• Modernise / style the UI to fit in with Umbraco 8 a little more than it does

• Fix general Umbraco 8 upgrade issues

We'll take a look internally, as I've said - we'd love to use it for v8 in one of our current projects - so maybe we'll arrange some time to help you in getting it ready quicker.

@base33 I'm currently jumping on this thread. Just noticed you didn't attach the database file + some other components from the new test website (Views etc.)

The issue I've spotted initially is with the way how Umbraco uses DatabaseHelper / Creator now + all the Context boundaries which we need to skip somehow.

Looking further and deeper there...
If you could provide the initial files/database it'd help for sure to see where you've ended with your work here.

@base33 I've made some progress in moving some parts of this package to v8-supported version (without massive refactorings... yet):

What I've done here (https://github.com/thecogworks/uCondition/tree/feature/v8-adjustments) is:

• I moved migrations to a new way of implementing them
• Removed legacy startup class and created composer/component for the package
• Refactored Repositories to work with new scoped-based approach
• Adjusted some DI/injections (probably correct :))
• Installed clean v8 to test... but

I also realised that I need ConditionalAccess package which is not a part of this repo. The DLL contains the old-code which needs to be adjusted. Can you share / attach it as well?

Hey @mzajkowski @levimatheri I am in the process of rebuilding this with all the contributions and some further enhancements for Umbraco 10.
The next version will be supporting DI and will use some of the performance improvements that I also applied to Mimic so everything is compiled and executed at IL level.

I'll update once I have more to share 😀
