Maintenance Status of JOLT

Hello!

First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the contributions you have made to the open-source community. JOLT has been incredibly helpful in JSON to JSON transformation scenario.

I noticed that the last update to JOLT was on May 26, 2023, last release was on Mar 28, 2022, and I was wondering if the project is still actively maintained. I understand that maintaining an open-source project requires a significant amount of time and effort, and I fully respect your decision either way.

If the project is still being maintained, I would love to learn about any future update plans or anticipated release timelines. If the project is no longer being maintained, I would also appreciate knowing the reasons behind this and whether there are any recommended alternative projects or solutions.

I am sharing your concerns about the maintenance of this nice project. I see this topic has already been raised at least in #758, #964, #1035, ... but never received an answer from the current maintainers.

So I guess it may be the time to consider doing a sort of community fork. The project is currently licensed under APL so it allows doing so.

Don't really know how to proceed but I'd be willing to help if others are interested.

I'm also interested in a community fork of this. Goals for the community fork could begin with dependency updates. Thoughts?

I use JOLT daily at work. I'm also down, especially to develop some proper documentation.

I am interested in being added to the org. Already started working on updating the project (Java version, libraries, ...).

If others want to contribute to this new community maintained version of Jolt, please let use know in the new repository (for instance, by starting a discussion). Ideally, we should be at least 2 or 3 persons maintaining it :)
