The runner's default shell is bash -e without pipefail, so `deploy.sh plan | tee plan.txt` took tee's status: a plan whose init failed (a module directory missing from the pinned checkout) reported success on maestro-fps4 #40's first push. `shell: bash` runs with -eo pipefail.
