3 button USB switch possible?

Hey,

I just ordered a 3 button usb switch and need to switch between 3 computers.

Setup is like this:

Monitor 1:
DisplayPort - PC1
HDMI 1 - PC2
HDMI 2 -PC3

Monitor 2:
HDMI - PC1 and PC2 (HDMI is splitted via a HDMI switch)
DVI - PC3

Can display-switch somehow detect which one of the 3 physical buttons was pressed and decide based on that which source should be set to active or is that not possible?

Edit: Researched a little bit on my own and seems that most USB switches are "dumb" and it could not work.

What display-switch detects is a connection/disconnection event for some USB peripheral. So, if your keyboard (for example), is connected through this switch, and you have display-switch running on all 3 computers, it should work:

• PC1: configure display-switch: "when the keyboard is detected, switch display to DisplayPort."
• PC2: configure display-switch: "when the keyboard is detected, switch display to HDMI1."
• PC3: configure display-switch: "when the keyboard is detected, switch display to HDMI2."

It does require display-switch to be running on all 3 PCs though, with 2 computers you can get away with running it on only one (and responding to both USB connection and disconnection events by switching the display input).
