Welcome to Redly 🔴

Redly is a private, offline-first workspace designed for people who want to own their data without sacrificing modern features. Our philosophy is simple: your notes and tasks should be Redly available, secure, and easy to manage.

🚀 Why Redly?

  • Privacy First: We don’t have servers. Your data stays on your device or your own private cloud.
  • Offline Capability: Work anywhere, anytime.
  • Unified Workflow: Redly combines notes and task management into one seamless experience.
  • Future-Proof: All your work is stored as standard Markdown files.

💾 Storage & Sync Options

Redly gives you full control over where your data lives. We now support high-performance browser storage and multi-device sync.

1. Browser Storage (Default)

  • How it works: Uses the Origin Private File System (OPFS).
  • Best for: Quick setup and mobile devices.
  • Note: This is a high-performance, private sandbox within your browser.

2. Local Folder (Recommended for Desktop)

  • How it works: Connects directly to a specific folder on your hard drive.
  • Pros: Every note is a real file on your computer. You can back them up to OneDrive/Dropbox or open them in other editors.

3. Cloud Sync

  • GitHub Sync: Connect your private GitHub repository for instant version-controlled backups.

✍️ Writing & Connectivity

  • Slash Commands: Type / inside any note to add headings, lists, or tables.
  • WikiLinks: Type [[ to link notes together and build a web of knowledge.
  • Backlinks: View every note that mentions the current page at the bottom of the editor.
  • Templates: Press INSERT to quickly add recurring layouts like Daily Journals.

✅ Smart Tasks & Collaboration

  • Natural Language Dates: Type @tomorrow, @friday, or @15/04 to create smart, coloured badges.
  • Global Dashboard (ALT + T): A unified view of every task across your entire workspace.
  • Kanban Boards (ALT + V): Visualise your workflow with drag-and-drop boards.
  • Live Collaboration: Use the Sync menu to start an anonymous, encrypted WebRTC session for real-time editing.
