dot11decrypt not erasing TAPs when exiting

Hi,
I was just setting up dot11decrypt and I had a couple of problems:

1. after successfully building the program + dependencies I have yet to see any packets in the TAP (except for a 2-3 MDNS that pop up randomly).
2. I'm noticing that every time I close the program it hangs and doesn't actually erase any of the TAPs.

I am using Linux Mint 32-Bit with a TP-Link TL-WN722N.

Has anyone noticed, or potentially solved this behavior?
I'd like to get this up and running as quick as possible, so I was wondering what other setups work for people (linux distros, wireless adapters, etc.)?
