The Outpost Devs

We build apps for fun.

Welcome to Outpost Devs 🚀

We are a software engineering and utilities lab focused on creating lightweight, high-performance, server-to-server developer and utility tools.

👥 Our Team

  • Allen (@allenjose24)
    Role: Lead Frontend Architect
Focus: Next.js architecture, UI/UX mechanics, Material Design 3 systems, and client-side interactions.

  • Satish (@Satish-970)
Role: Lead Backend & Systems Engineer
Focus: Spring Boot services, PostgreSQL database schema lifecycle, secure token encryption, and concurrent file-processing workers.

🛠️ Current Project: Drive-Shift

Drive-Shift is our inaugural utility application designed to migrate files and folders directly server-to-server between two Google Drive accounts.

Why it exists:

When a Google Drive runs out of space, it halts Gmail sync. The standard workaround is to download everything locally and re-upload it to a fresh account. Drive-Shift transfers folders and files directly within Google's backend infrastructure—eliminating the local device bottleneck.

  • Repository: drive-shift
  • Tech Stack: Next.js, Java Spring Boot 3, Supabase (PostgreSQL), Tailwind CSS, Docker, Render, Vercel.

📈 Current Project Progress

Here is our current development status on Drive-Shift:

  • Milestone 0 — Foundations: 🟩 In Progress
    • Milestones and backlog created on GitHub (45 issues active).
    • API Contract [API_CONTRACT.md] frozen.
    • Wiki documentation successfully deployed.
    • Next step: Scaffolding project directories.
  • Milestone 1 — Parallel Build: ⬜ Upcoming
  • Milestone 2 — Integration & Hardening: ⬜ Upcoming
  • Milestone 3 — Deploy: ⬜ Upcoming

“Restrained, confident, and built to feel at home in Google’s own product suite.”
