Export a Slipshow presentation to a Beamer-style PDF

This is a feature question/suggestion rather than a bug report.

Is there currently a way to convert a Slipshow Markdown file into a clean, well-formatted PDF presentation, ideally using LaTeX Beamer?

I understand that some Slipshow features such as scrolling, camera movement, drawings, and custom animations do not have direct equivalents in Beamer. However, it might still be useful to convert headings, pauses, lists, mathematical content, figures, and semantic blocks into conventional Beamer frames and overlays.

If this functionality does not currently exist, would such a converter be useful or appropriate as a separate companion tool?

Hello!

You can use the subcommand slipshow markdown to export the presentation to pure markdown (that is, remove the attributes, and the "altered semantics" such as the quote or line separator). Then, you can convert to LaTeX/Beamer, probably after modifying the document a bit (since it has no notion of slides). Hopefully it should work, let me know!

Another option is to use pandoc, as suggested in #155, but to convert to latex:

$ pandoc --from=commonmark+attributes+bracketed_span --to latex hello.md

(And then, turn it to beamer from the LateX one. Converting directly to beamer would probably not work due to the fact that Slipshow has no notion of slides!)

(It is tricky to implement a good PDF export for the reasons you listed, especially: zooms, drawings and animations. It is on the back of my mind to try to have one though, but it won't happen soon due to a todo list with many items!)
