A browser-based tool for viewing a phylogenetic tree and editing its node heights interactively. Click a node, enter a new height (or calendar date), and the tree is redrawn with branch lengths recomputed accordingly.
- Reads Newick and NEXUS trees, including BEAST/TreeAnnotator output with translate blocks and
[&…]annotations; the first tree in a file is used. - Heights are measured from the most recent tip. Providing the date of the most recent tip switches the axis and inputs to calendar dates.
- Edits are constrained so that a node lies between the height of its oldest child and that of its parent; the admissible interval is shown for the selected node.
- Edited nodes are marked, with the original position indicated for the selected node. Per-node restore, full restore, undo and redo are supported.
- Keyboard navigation between parent, children and siblings.
- Export of the edited tree as Newick or NEXUS, optionally retaining the original annotations.
Open index.html in a modern browser, or use the hosted version on GitHub Pages. The tool runs entirely client-side; no data leave the browser.
