Rene Kristofer Pohlak

Developer building practical AI tooling, automation systems, self-hosted infrastructure, and user-facing applications.

I work across AI-assisted development workflows, client/workflow software, infrastructure automation, full-stack systems, and app development. Some of my current work is private, client-facing, or infrastructure-heavy, but the common thread is building reliable systems that make complex work easier to operate, verify, and improve.

Current focus

  • AI-assisted development workflows, agent orchestration, and tool-using systems
  • Client/workflow software where automation needs domain awareness and careful verification
  • Self-hosted development infrastructure with Linux, Proxmox, Tailscale, DNS, and CI runners
  • Python automation, CLIs, service integrations, and developer tooling
  • Full-stack web development with React, Node.js, APIs, and deployment workflows
  • Android and user-facing application development
  • Applied AI systems: retrieval, evaluation, embeddings, local inference, and workflow automation

Working areas

  • Systems and workflow design: turning messy real-world processes into traceable, maintainable software
  • AI/devtools: agent workflows, tool orchestration, context systems, retrieval, evaluation, and local model tooling
  • Backend and automation: Python, Node.js, APIs, CLIs, background jobs, service integrations, and data handling
  • Frontend and apps: React, Astro, TypeScript, responsive UI, Android, and workflow-focused interfaces
  • Infrastructure and operations: Linux, Docker, Proxmox, Tailscale, DNS, systemd, SSH, backups, and self-hosted services
  • CI and engineering quality: GitHub Actions, self-hosted runners, testing, repo hygiene, documentation, and repeatable delivery

Selected work

AI-assisted developer workflows

I build and experiment with systems for coordinating agents, tools, context, review loops, and verification. The goal is not just more automation, but better software work: clearer tasks, better feedback, safer changes, and more reliable outcomes.

Client and workflow systems

A recurring theme in my work is turning complex client workflows into clearer software systems. I care about careful automation, traceable decisions, structured data, and keeping human judgment visible where it matters.

Much of this work is private or client-facing, so I describe it at the system level rather than exposing project details.

Self-hosted development infrastructure

I maintain a Proxmox-based home lab used for development, CI, automation, and experimentation.

It includes a dedicated development/CI environment, self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, private access through Tailscale, local DNS, Linux services, backup routines, and operational hardening.

App development

I am also working on Android and user-facing application development. I keep project specifics broad publicly, but this work complements my systems and automation focus by grounding it in practical interfaces and workflows used directly by people.

Earlier public projects

Some older public repositories are JavaScript/web development practice projects from earlier learning stages. They are still available because they show progression, but my current work has moved toward AI tooling, infrastructure, automation, client workflow systems, and app development.
