Discussions is 404

There is no discussions page.

I want to make small web apps whist away on my tablet.

I installed Live Server extension but when I open my web page with it, nothing happens, which isn't very useful.

The readme.md file says...

Dev Server Preview: Preview a running dev server in an editor tab beside your code, or hand it to the device's browser.

But I have no idea how to get that working.

Thanks for the report, and sorry about the dead link. Discussions is not enabled on this repository, so #430 removes the links; Issues is the right place for questions like this one.

On Live Server: in 1.3.0 the server does start, but opening a browser fails, because Node's browser helper looks for an xdg-open command the app did not provide. That is fixed on main in #406 and will be in the next release. On a current build, "Open with Live Server" opens the page in Chrome.

Until the update reaches you, you can view the running server inside the editor:

1. Start Live Server as you did. It serves on port 5500 unless you changed it.
2. Open the Command Palette (Ctrl+Shift+P, or F1 on your keyboard) and run Simple Browser: Show.
3. Enter http://127.0.0.1:5500/.

The page opens in an editor tab beside your code, with a reload button and a button that hands it to the device browser. The same steps are in the user guide under Dev Server Preview. If that does not show your page, reply here with what you see and I will take a look.

1.4.0 is out, and it carries the fix: https://github.com/rmyndharis/VSCodroid/releases/tag/v1.4.0

"Open with Live Server" now opens the page in the device's browser. The app ships the xdg-open command Node's browser helper looks for, which is what was missing in 1.3.0. Viewing it inside the editor with Simple Browser: Show still works if you prefer to keep everything in one screen.

The dead Discussions links are gone from the README and the site as well, so Issues is the one place to ask.

Closing this, but please reopen or leave a comment if Live Server still does not open a browser for you after updating, with your Android version and what the page does instead.
