Does it work with the most recent Teamscale API?

Hi,

I get a 400 error when executing teamscale-administrator.py. It seems to me that the Teamscale API may have changed -- the one I am using is version 9.1.4, while in the script it specifies an older one. Any hints?

Hi,

Currently, I don't have access to an instance of Teamscale, as the university project was some time ago. However, the implementation in this repository uses the versioned API. So, it should work with your version regardless.

What I could imagine being the problem is the hardcoded git account (post_project_git(..) in /src/teamscale/api_interface.py) which is not mentioned in the README.md?
A change here might resolve the 400 error.

If this is the problem, I would be happy if you could get back to me because, in this case, I will at least adapt the README.md accordingly (And Sorry for the insufficient/ hidden doc here, this is my fault).

Anyhow, I am glad the project is still useful :)

I already changed the TEAMSCALE_USERNAME and TEAMSCALE_ACCESS_TOKEN in api_interface.py. Before doing that I had a 401 Unauthorized response .

The 400 response seems to be because the API might have changed. Let me see if I can download an earlier version of teamscale and test it there.

The thing that I have in mind is the following (in api_interface.py Line 108ff.):

         "Account": "schuhmaj", # <--- This needs to be changed!

You very likely need to change the value inside this dictionary in api_interface.py to the git-account-connector's name, which you previously needed to configure in Teamscale as GitConnector (or similarly named/ The raw git connector, not GitHub/ GitLab Connector/ etc.).

If I recall correctly, you can create/ add a new git connector while specifying the "source of origin" of a new project.

thanks, I've modified that part, but still get a 400. Not sure if I have to do something in teamscale (create the project first in the web interface or not). If I remove the part of the connector in the JSON, I get a 201 and the project gets created, but it does not do the analysis.

Have you also created a git account within Teamscale with the name that you have set in the Python script?

Otherwise, maybe actually the API changed somehow. In this case, ...

Option a)
Looking into the REST documentation (somewhere accessible on the big "?" in the corner in Teamscale)

Option b)
Creating a new git-connector-based project in the Teamscale UI and investigating the payload of the REST request that is being sent with the DevTools of your Browser.
You can then "adapt" the payload in the script accordingly.

The 201 makes sense. I am 95% sure that if you remove the connector you create a blank project - so no analysis at all.

(But a bit guessing/ remembering, as said, I don't have access to a Teamscale instance)

Thanks for the feedback. I have the impression there is something to be done in the Teamscale part that I haven't. But I am new to Teamscale, so no idea. I just followed the instructions in the Readme.md page of the project. No worries.
