[BUG] Unable to select Models or IRs in Logic Pro 12.3, works on standalone app

Description

When loading Gateway as a plugin on an audio track, the selection of a model or IR is not possible. You can browse, but it does not load them after.

The use of the standalone gateway app works for input and model/ir selection, however.

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to Audio Track on Logic Pro
2. Click on add Gateway Plugin
3. Select Model or IR file
4. Does not load-- no error

• OS: MacOS 26.6
• M4 Mac Mini
• Plugin version: Gateway v1.0.1--not this repo.
• AU
• DAW: Logic Pro 12.3
• Audio interface: Scarlett 4i4 3rd Generation
• Sample rate: 48 kHz
• Buffer size: 128 samples

Additional context

I have tried both A1 and A2 files. It does not change the outcome. I have also given full disk access to Logic Pro and Gateway on my Mac. Thank you!!

Looks like you're using Gateway, not this repo. I'll update the ticket.

Can you share where you're storing your files? Exact filepaths would be helpful.

I found a suspicious file-access path in the code: after you select a file, it scans the file’s parent folder before loading it. If Logic’s Audio Unit hosting process can access the selected file but cannot enumerate that folder, the plugin currently stops without displaying an error. This would match the behavior you’re seeing. I'm making a change to at least show the problem instead of the current silent failure.

In the meantime, could you please try the following?

1. Create /Users/Shared/NamTest and place one known-good .nam file and one mono .wav IR in it. Try loading both from the plug-in.
2. Load the same WAV using Logic’s stock Space Designer plug-in: choose Sampled IR → Load IR.
3. Let me know what Gateway’s filename field does after selection:
   • Does it remain “Select model…”/“Select IR…”?
   • Does it show the filename?
   • Does it show (FAILED)?

If the /Users/Shared files work while files in Documents, Downloads, iCloud, or an external drive do not, then that would strongly suggest a folder-permission problem. Space Designer working would also show that Logic can access the file generally, while narrowing the problem to this plug-in's Audio Unit file-handling path.

If none of those work, a Console capture would be helpful: filter for subsystem:com.apple.sandbox.reporting, reproduce the problem, and look for entries mentioning AUHostingServiceXPC_arrow, Logic Pro, or deny file-read.

This'll help me tell what exactly is failing and what needs to change.
