User preferences retention

UX goals:

• Facilitate user customization of data displays and visualizations
• Avoid need for user to repeat customization selections
  Feature is done when:
• User selections of figures are remembered between logins
• User selections of table columns are remembered between sequential sessions.

Notes:

• Load user preferences into UI structure on session start (not login)
• Persist preferences eagerly.
