Reshapes the README from a 585-line docs-mirror into a conversion-focused landing page, and fixes stale numbers.

What changed

  • Positioning up top — moved Why Vayl to the top as a comparison table (additive / temporal-graph / Vayl) + a "built for" use-cases line so visitors self-identify.
  • Navigable — added a jump-to nav bar; all internal anchors verified.
  • Shorter visible scroll — folded the full 30+ tool reference, Advanced memory features & tuning, and Deployment & operations into collapsible <details>. Nothing deleted; the depth is one click away and still in-repo (no broken doc-links). Visible scroll ~585 → ~230 lines.
  • Stale numbers fixed — test count 495/475551 across the badge, Status, and Contributing (verified: 551 passed locally).
  • Small adds — good-first-issue CTA in Contributing; condensed Security/Status prose; tightened the repeated Redux→Zustand example.
