Summary

Fresh interactive eve init previously completed the entire base dependency install before showing onboarding, leaving users idle for roughly 25 seconds in cold local measurements. This starts the ordinary install immediately after scaffolding while provider, channel, and integration choices are collected in memory; Review waits for install success and Git initialization before any project mutation. Install failures retain the existing cleanup and error path, while prefilled, headless, coding-agent, and existing-project init flows remain serial.

The expected wall-clock saving is min(user selection time, base install time): about 10 seconds for the measured 10-second questionnaire, with first interaction moving from roughly 25–28 seconds after launch to immediately after scaffolding. This deliberately does not batch shadcn package installation or run concurrent package writers.

Validation

Focused coverage passed with 298 unit tests and 60 init integration tests, including orchestration order, install-failure mutation safety, planned-choice reuse, cancellation, and terminal cleanup. The complete 7,729-test unit run passed 7,727 tests with one skipped and one unrelated load-sensitive test timing out at 5 seconds; that test passed independently in 2.9 seconds. Type checking, documentation validation, formatting/linting, and repository invariant checks also passed.
