It's a common event that there is surprisingly a big part of the site that someone doesn't want to download, but he didn't even know that it exists before the download started. But even if process is paused, there is no way to change scan rules.
I understand that there is no such feature to avoid problems with inconsistency. For example, it's not obvious what to do with already queued or, worse, started downloads that should no more be scanned by new scan rules. It's possible to resolve these problems in one of several ways (enforce to always continue queued downloads; check queued downloads with new scan options; let user choose).
Absence of such feature makes HTTrack pretty much unusable to me, because it takes O(N^2) time to download any given website. Could you do something with it, please?
