Preparatory release changes for #97. This PR intentionally does not close the issue; #97 resolves only after v1.0.0 is published and verified.
Local verification includes full normal/race/coverage gates, a clean plain-clone dry run, v0.14.2 database upgrade, installed-binary behavior, token-auth API/remote CLI, and a provider-backed read-only story draft.
